I always hear that women use nearly double the amount of words per day than a man uses. I know in my home it is NOT true. My husband can use more words in a single phone call than I can use all day long. Not that I am always quiet. Get me started on the right topic and I will tell you more than Josh ever would. (My husband is uber-private as mentioned in this post.) Nevertheless, the perception is that most women talk more then most men.
This article takes a look at all the research and concludes that we really average the same amount per day. I think it is all about perception. Women tend to be more conversational about personal things and thats probably why the mommy blogs are so popular. Mommy blogs that are hugely popular follow the ups and downs of daily life that we can relate to. It is somehow comforting to hear that other moms are whining about potty training and not being able to get their kids to eat anything other than pasta, because it let's us know we are not alone.
What is surprising to me are the daddy blogs I have been reading. I love them! Honest and humorous dads talking their feelings on being a parent? Keep talking!
Here are a few I like:
MetroDAD
CANADAD
DadCAMP
Rice Daddies

Do you enjoy reading from a father's perspective as well as a mother's? How about the men in your life, can you imagine them talking about their feelings in a blog post?
